Robert Ivy Receives High Award

Robert Ivy has built an impressive career as an architect. The CEO of The American Institute of Architects, Ivy has worked in major positions at several different times throughout out his career. Recently Ivy was recognized for his achievements as he was awarded the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is handed out the organization called MIAL. This is a historic moment as Ivy is the first architect to ever receive the award and one of only a few Mississippians to receive the honor.

Robert Ivy has built an impressive career that proves he is worth of this high honor. He is a graduate of Sewaneee University where he earned a degree in English. He later earned masters degree in Architecture from Tulane University. During his career he has worked as a practicing architect, an author and a commentator. He has served as the leader of AIA for the last seven years. Before AIA, Robert Ivy worked as Editor of McGraw-Hill’s Architectural Record. During this time he helped the company to achieve great success and expand across the globe. Ivy lead Architectural Record to great success including being given an award for the companies excellence.

Many people in the architect world had high praise when speaking of Ivy. When speaking about Ivy MIAL President Nancy LaForge said that Ivy is the best when it comes to getting architecture out to the public. Ivy has also received great endorsement from AIA President Carl Elefante who sees Ivy as the perfect ambassador for the profession.

On June 2 MIAl will honor Ivy along with Designer Andrew Cary Young. Their company continues to be committed to creating more valuable, sustainable buildings communities. With great architects like Robert Ivy leading the way, they should be quite successful for many years to come.
